Annual Spring Meeting Notes, Blue Note Café, April 20, 2008 In attendance: Bob, Marty, Kathy, Shelly, Milo, Pete, Dan, Paula, Art, Joe, Betty, Laurie, Scott, Marty, Mike, Pete, Rick and newcomers Heidi and Hunter. Marty gave a treasure report and we have upwards of $830.00 not counting a number of memberships received at the meeting. Bob discussed the possibility of the election. Art nominated the current set officers to remain in their offices. The club deliberated or about one second, and voted unanimously in the affirmative. Bob thanked us for his support with a smile if not with words. Bob mentioned that he would like us to be a bit more visible this year. One project he is initiating is creating and distributing a flyer on the clubs activities. Joe has volunteered to help out on the flyer/brochures. The conversation went to this issue a couple of times and all seemed to agree that we should get it out to the local retail sports-shops and possibly the colleges and Canal Park Hotels. Kathy and Paula thought they could get us listed on some local web-sites. Bob also likes the idea of doing some skating clinics. It was suggested that we incorporate this with our Thursday Millennium Trail skate as that area has the best pavement. Marty and Art indicated that they would also be open to doing one-on-one training sessions if there is interest. Marty brought up the idea of new T-shirts and jerseys. There is some agreement that new Jerseys are a good idea.We discussed the use of a bulletin board and emails for communication. As the bulletin board did not work well in the past, for now we are looking at email. Joe is going to send out an email asking if it is ok to share emails with the club and start an email list of active club members.
Tuesday Night Skates on Munger Trail are starting soon.
Thursday Nights you will find some skaters out on the Millenium Trail in Superior. Clinics available on the first Thursday of the month.
Feel free to join in at the Sunday morning Jelly Roll, meet at the Blue Note Cafe, Sunday 10:00AM.
