About Northern Inline Skaters

Over 180 members strong, Northern Inline Skaters is a fun group of men, women and children who get together and skate. The skate club was established in 1992 with Cathi Austin the first elected president. The original Canal Park “clubhouse” was Twin Ports Cyclery, which has since moved to West Duluth. The first official regularly scheduled club event was Joe’s Jelly Roll, which still runs today, year round, rain or shine every Sunday at 10:00 a.m., meeting at the Blue Note Café in Canal Park. proud to be an international skate club with several members from the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Ontario. We currently have members from Canada, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, California, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona. The NorthShore Inline Marathon is one reason why we have members from such a large geographic area. The marathon weekend provides members the opportunity to rally together once a year, participate in activities in addition to the race, and have an established group of friends ready to “pal” around with. We publish an informative newsletter four times a year and have great club skating apparel for sale. Membership costs only $10/year for a single or $15/year for a family membership. Canadian dollars accepted at par.
